INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 12, 2025) – The Pacers Foundation, in partnership with the Noblesville Boom, officially launched the 2025-26 NBA Math Hoops season at Hinkle Creek Elementary School on Thursday, bringing basketball-inspired learning to life for nearly 150 local students.

NBA Math Hoops is a fast-paced board game and curriculum developed by Learn Fresh, supported by the Pacers Foundation and the Eli Lilly Foundation. The program turns learning into a team sport by engaging students in math by using real NBA and WNBA player statistics to solve problems and make strategic plays.

“It’s exciting to see the launch of NBA Math Hoops align with the Noblesville Boom’s first season in the community,” said Corey Wilson, PS&E senior vice president of community engagement and Pacers Foundation board member. “This program gives kids an opportunity to learn math alongside how to think critically, work together, and build confidence, all through the game of basketball.”

Noblesville students in fifth grade worked in pairs to draft teams, solve equations, and compete, all while strengthening their math and leadership skills. Staff of the Noblesville Boom were present to help facilitate the event and to award students with prizes.

Designed for students in grades 4-8, NBA Math Hoops is a free program that develops students’ algebra readiness prior to entering high school, while strengthening important skills like critical thinking and collaboration.

"We're pleased to welcome the Boom to Noblesville", shared Marnie Cooke, Noblesville Schools executive director of marketing and communications. "Our students at Hinkle Creek are loving the opportunity to practice their math skills alongside Boom staff and we appreciate this exciting new community partnership."

Students can independently access NBA Math Hoops by downloading the program’s mobile app at no cost on any Android or iOS device. Educators can receive free resources to offer the program in classrooms, after-school programs and summer camps by reaching out to foundation@pacers.com.
