After being hampered by a back injury and missing the team’s first 11 games of the season, Johnson made his long-awaited debut on Dec. 11, 2025. In that contest, he recorded 15 points and five rebounds on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the field in just 14 minutes of action. He appeared in three games during the Tip-Off Tournament while on a minute restriction, averaging 11.0 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 87.5 percent from the field during that span.
Once the regular season began, Johnson made his presence felt in the paint, finishing his opportunities at a high rate around the rim. He was frequently on the receiving end of alley-oops and collected several emphatic finishes over defenders throughout the season. Johnson ranked among the league leaders in field goal percentage, finishing with a 69.1 percent clip - good for the highest mark in the league among players with at least 150 shot attempts.
In his rookie season, Johnson tallied 16 double-digit scoring performances and recorded 14 games with at least five rebounds, while shooting 50.0 percent or better in 34 of his 36 appearances.
